The Science of a Smile
by Gary Haseldine
With mental health issues increasingly at the forefront
of the news, there is a great need for us to take

A WINNING READ
This month we’ve been engrossed in a fabulous
book, The Magician’s Way by William Whitecloud.
A story is about finding oneself and really brings
home the fact that it is OK to pursue your passion
in life. Too many of us are not happy because we give
up on our dreams. As we get older, those enormous
childhood aspirations gradually shrink to fit what
we think we ought to do, depending on the people and
circumstances that surround us. We hand over our sovereignty
in exchange for the good old comfort zone and thereby
often do not realise our full potential in life.

THIS MONTH’S WIN
Contributing to one’s community is a great way
to create an inner sense of well being and happiness.
Following some outstanding results with a lovely young
man who is mentally disabled, we have been introduced
to his support group. As part of our philanthropic
work, we are now spending time each week with a group
of similar young men.
WE’D LIKE TO SEE THAT
Did you know that in 1962 there was an outbreak of
contagious laughter in Tanganyika.in Africa (today’s
Tanzania). Starting with a group of schoolgirls it
spread rapidly. The laughter epidemic apparently lasted
6 months and at one stage was so out of control that
they had to close some schools. Sounds like a lot
of fun doesn’t it?
