THINKING OF A SEA CHANGE?

Having recently relocated ourselves, lock stock and
barrel to the beautiful climes and friendly atmosphere
of the Mid North Coast of NSW, I suppose you could
say that we have had a sea-change.
It is the latest lifestyle fashion. We’ve seen
it reported in the newspapers, written about in magazines
and featured on the television.
Figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics
earlier this year shows the shift of population to
the coast continues surge. The sea-change has become
such a phenomenon that the National Sea Change Taskforce
has been established since 2004, to represent the
interests of coastal destinations having to cope with
the migration of city folk to their idyllic surroundings.
But is a sea-change all it’s cracked up to

THIS MONTH’S WIN
People going out of their way to be extra helpful.
The other day I was looking for a particular brand
of product. As we are new in the area I asked in the
nearest pharmacy if they stocked the product. They
didn’t but the service assistant promptly picked
up the phone and called an opposition pharmacy to
see if they had what I wanted. They did and she then
directed me to the shop! The pay off for going the
extra mile? – one, it generates a warm glow
for the both the receiver and the giver, two, the
Law of Reciprocity says that when you give out unconditionally,
you get back a hundredfold and most often from the
most unexpected sources at the most unexpected times
and three, we will definitely be shopping in that
store in the future.
WE’D LIKE TO SEE THAT!
The sort of community spirit that we have found in
our new home town to spread everywhere, especially
in our big cities.
For example, we saw an advertisement in the local
newspaper inviting anyone who had moved into the area
in the last 6 months to come along to meet other folk
in the same situation. Can you imagine that happening
in Sydney or Melbourne?
