Description

Clamshell bucket includes rotary type and non-rotary type. Non-rotary type uses excavator bucket cylinder oil pathway, unnecessary to add hydraulic valve and pipeline, rotary type needs to add one set of hydraulic valve and pipeline to control. Cylinders are with piston protective device.

It also contains hydraulic type. Hydraulic clamshell bucket is designed to be attached onto an excavator .The dual hydraulic cylinders/ rams mounted on the outer rim of the bucket provides excellent digging force. The inner side of the bucket has a smooth surface for easy unloading of high viscosity material such as mud and clay, while the outer layer is reinforce with additional layer of wear strips. The bowl's radius has been optimized to match with the locus of the hydraulic cylinder/ram to deliver consistence full load for maximum productivity.

Hydraulic designs are meant for attaching to an excavator while the mechanical cable operated are designed to work with a broad range of canes. Ours grab are constructed with high tensile steel and wear resistant steel with capacity starting from 1 cubic meter and upward.

Performance

The clamshell most common and is used in silty, clayey and sandy materials. In mud the yaws in general have flat plates without teeth. In sand, clay and gravel, the yaws are fitted with in each other grabbing teeth, the two halves, shells, rotate around a hinge in the lower sheave block and re connected with the upper sheave block by rods. The closure/hoist cable is reefed several times between the head and the disc block to generate enough closing force. In mud the yaws are fitted with in each other grabbing teeth. For the removal of contaminated soil closed clamshells are used to avoid spillage.
